Scientific Psychology accepts submissions of four types of articles:
• Original empirical work
• Original theoretical work
• Comments on published work
• Book and movie reviews
Manuscript preparation: Manuscripts should be prepared in APA format as per the American Psychological Association (2009) Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.) Washington, DC: Author. All copy must be double-spaced and must include figures and references (in proper APA format) on a separate page. Tables may be included in the text as is acceptable and appropriate for APA style. As this is an online publication, only color is welcome and encouraged.http://www.apa.org/journals/authors/manuscript_check.html
All manuscripts should include an Abstract with a 150 words maximum on a separate page along with five key words to facilitate recognition by search engines. The manuscript it self may not exceed 50 double-spaced pages in length, including the cover page, abstract, references, tables, and figures.
Review: All submissions must include a cover letter indicating that the manuscript is being submitted for consideration and that the ethical guidelines of the APA have been followed. http://www.apa.org/ethics/. All contact and institutional information (name, institution, date of submission) must be included in the cover letter and all reference to the author's identity should be removed from the actual manuscript.
Three reviewers, consisting of two professional reviewers and one student, will provide a masked review.
Permissions: Authors are required to obtain and provide to the editor on final acceptance all necessary permissions to reproduce in electronic form any copyrighted work, including, for example, test materials (or portions thereof) and photographs of people.
Submission: Submit
manuscripts electronically in Portable Document Format (.PDF), Rich Text Format
(.rtf), or Microsoft Word Format (.doc) to
the Editor at
ipscdirector@socialautomaticity.net. Authors should keep a copy of the manuscript to guard against loss. Authors will receive confirmation of acceptance for review with in seven business days of submission.
